Thar she blows! (done in my best Mr. Krabs voice)

Well it looks like Rita might be headed this way. It will be a couple of days before we know for certain but I'll be watching it closely.

My posts are going to be very sporadic and lame this week (as they have been for most of September.) Life is pulling me in multiple directions right now! Hopefully I can get back to regular blogging by next week (providing my house hasn't been blown down.)

Funny, I thought about you when I saw the cone. Take care of yourself out there.

Boy, we do have something to watch out for. I am going to Wal-Mart tonight to buy extra bottled water. I have everything else. I keep praying it will go to New Orleans and leave us alone. I suppose that was a nasty wish. Slap my hand. I think we are far enough north that we won't get too much damage. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I heard about Rita!

All good thoughts coming your way. I hope you are prepared, to stay or leave, no matter what.

Be safe!

You'e too far north to worry about the winds. Flooding may be another issue ...

Geez. I hope Rita skips you. It seems like the latest storms are chasing the poor Hurricane Katrina evacuees...

My personal advice - make an ice plan.

Right now - throw all the old gross stuff in your freezer that you KNOW you will never eat away. Do not wait.

Then, fill up as many plastic bottles as you can with water. Freeze them. When / if your power cuts off, you can place the ice bottles in your fridge.

Do you have coolers? Clean them out. Before the storm, fill the coolers with ice. Do not use all the coolers for food. Count on most of your food going bad.

If you have more than one cooler, great! You can pack some food in the ice.

But keep at least one cooler for ice only! You will need that ice to put into a tall glass of room tempature water.
